The Cumberland County Jail Board of Visitors is an oversight and advisory group of citizens from the community appointed by Sheriff Kevin J. Joyce to inspect and provide recommendations for jai conditions such as security, staff safety, inmate health and safety and rehabilitation efforts of inmates on an annual basis under 30-A M.R.S. § 1651.
Please note: The Jail Board of Visitors meetings may be changed to accommodate the schedules of the members of the committee, canceled at the request of the committee, or other logistical issues that would prevent a meeting.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will host the Cumberland County Jail Board of Visitors for their annual tour and jail inspection in compliance with 30-A M.R.S. § 1651 on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 17:30 hours and Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10:00.
The Jail Board of Visitors will meet for a short briefing in the Jail training room before the tour.
